First Cook - Pizza-Porta

I had to share a note I received last week. Kaitlyn made pizza with the Pizza-Porta for the first time:

I finally made pizza with the Pizza Porta and my BGE. I had asked my boyfriend to help me the first time since he grills pizzas quite often on his gas grill and I was nervous about getting the grill that hot. We did the whole thing together from set up to closing it down to extinguish the coals. To say he was skeptical ... is mild. I can't remember the exact words he said, but we were both laughing about it later. It was something along the lines of, "I'll hold my judgment until I see what comes out" and "seems like a lot of work and time to set up."

But then, the first pizza wasn't even out when he saw it through the door, squealed, and was exclaiming, "this is AMAZING." There were also several "we made that, I mean, we MADE THAT" : ) He was most impressed with how the crust bubbled up around the edges and how quickly they cooked.

I was really glad I waited for the extra set of hands. With the size we did, it was a bit tricky to get the raw dough transferred to the wooden peal. Luckily, we had no issues transferring the pizzas into and out of the grill! However, with everything happening so quickly it was really difficult to also take photos. I was able to take a few, will try to get some better ones for you in the future. I wish had his reaction recorded; it was pure surprise and joy.
