Now, as a proud new owner of a Pizza-Porta, you can expand your passion to making great pizza (and other baked goods). We love all things pizza and are excited to share our knowledge with you.

When you received your new Pizza-Porta, you unboxed the gift of year-round, authentic, homemade wood-fired pizza. What was once your standard ceramic grill can now become a highly efficient pizza oven. No propane taste or loud gas jets, only hints of hardwood smoke. Through years of testing and several design improvements, we have refined the Pizza-Porta into the most efficient tool for restaurant quality, authentic wood-fired pizza in your ceramic grill.

Design - Why is there a door? Why is it capped?

Our patented door design grants you several advantages when making pizza. After you slide your pizza in the oven, you can check on the pie’s progress or turn it - without losing heat. Baking pizza is not a timed event. Pizza is cooked by eye, and without a Pizza-Porta you lose valuable heat every time you check your pie’s progress.

The door also manages ventilation through the fire. With the door and side vents, you dial in your desired cooking temperature. With a controlled amount of air, the temperature is regulated for evenly cooked crusts.

One of the greatest advantages of cooking with a Pizza-Porta, is the ability to cap your Big Green Egg or Kamado Joe grill’s chimney. While this method is unconventional for standard grilling and smoking, it is essential in creating consistent and delicious pizza. Capping the chimney captures all of the energy in the ceramic dome, which balances the heat above and below the pizza stone. This balance ensures your pizza cooks evenly and creates lighter, crispier crust making your pizza incredible.
